Politicians are mighty persons. They can decide where money goes. They can begin or support important developments in the school system. So have a look at the opinion of this politician in relation to a positive development of schools. We thank these politicians for their willingness to support our work in school.

The interview was done with Wolfgang Röken, member of Northrhein-Westfalian parliament in Düsseldorf.
.

1.Will there be a actual school building in the future?
If so, what will it look like?

There will be schools in the future. It is important that pupils come together at one place to talk to each other, to play and to learn. There will be bright and welcoming school buildings. There will be a lot of rooms for courses with the whole class but also for smaller groups of pupils. The schoolyards will be inviting, nicely maintained and equipped with great playgrounds.

2.Will there be teachers in the future?
If so, what will be their role? There will be teachers in the future as well. They are very important. Only through personal conversations with the pupils the best education can be guaranteed. The teachers will be there for the pupils, in case it is desired, also until the afternoon. They not only impart knowledge but accompany the pupils during the process of learning and also impart social skills. Apart from that they will teach the pupils to be independent to a greater extent.

 3. Will there still be textbooks in the future or just computers?
Both will be there and will complement one another. The book will still be an important teaching material. The importance of computers will nevertheless continue to increase in the years to come.

 4. What will be the important school subjects in the future?
The most important goal will be to mediate independent learning and exercising social manners. But also sports, a healthy diet and of course basic knowledge will be subjects of great importance.

 5. Will marks be given in the future?
Marks belong to school. However, the criteria for judging the pupils' learning progress might change because the main focus of learning will change over time as well.

 6. What is your vision of the ideal school?
The ideal school has to be close to the pupils' home. The class sizes should not exceed the number of 20 pupils per class. All pupils and teachers would like to go to school in my vision of the ideal school.

 7. Is there anything else you would like to add?
I wish for more teachers and pupils to be involved in the debate on the ideal future school. This issue is very important for our future society. Everyone should take part in the discussions and the decision-making process. I also wished that more people were interested in politics and would actively support the different parties. This applies to people of all ages but most of all for the young people.
